Sherry Lee
Sherry Lee holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Columbia University, where she focused on international security policy and military technologies, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. Her work connects technology, strategy, and defense, combining hands-on technical skills with a deep understanding of global security challenges. With experience in both engineering and policy, at NASA and the U.S. Navy, she brings a practical, data-driven approach to defense analysis and planning.
Through her experience as a civilian systems engineer and data analyst with the U.S. Navy—where she contributed to ship maintenance optimization and budgetary tracking tools—and her academic work on nuclear strategy and missile defense, Sherry identified the value of combining strong technical skills with strategic thinking. This realization fuels her commitment to advancing data-informed approaches to security planning and emerging technology evaluation, particularly in the context of military competition in East Asia.
Her research interests include military competition in East Asia, nuclear strategy, missile defense, defense technology assessment, and the impact of emerging technologies on regional security.
She speaks English and Mandarin, and is based in Los Angeles.
