Joseph Weiman
Joseph Weiman is a Latin America-focused analyst and consultant. Recently he has worked as a country risk analyst at Fitch Solutions, covering Ecuador, Venezuela, Uruguay, Bolivia and El Salvador. In this role he provided political analysis and forecasts, as well as analyzing macroeconomic indicators and forecasting GDP, inflation, and interest rates, among others.
At present, Joseph is a senior analyst at Diligentia Group, a business intelligence consultancy, where he conducts open-source investigations for private sector clients. He continues to research and analyze Latin America both at Diligentia Group and as a freelance analyst and consultant. He regularly writes for the Inter-American Dialogue’s Latin America Advisor publication, featuring his analysis on Ecuador, Argentina and Uruguay.
Previously, Joseph has worked at Control Risks, Colombia Risk Analysis, TDI and Veracity Worldwide where he analyzed political, economic, security and social developments in Latin America. Joseph is from New York City, lived in Bolivia in 2015 and is fluent in Spanish. He previously worked as a legal advocate, representing asylum seekers from Latin America and across the globe.
